Taking good care of your credit rating has to be one of the most important things you can do; if you are looking to start up your own business, whether small or more ambitious, you will be needing financial advice and, of course, a good supply of cash. Not many people, very few actually, do not need to resort to taking out a finance package to kick start their business, so if you are one of the ‘many’ give some serious thought to where you begin your search for a finance provider.

There are so many different categories of personal loans these days that you could be forgiven for finding everything rather confusing if this is your first foray into borrowing money. But it is not as complicated as you think as long as you stick to the well known, legitimate loan providers such as AmericaOneUnsecured who specialise exclusively in brokering loans. Please don’t be tempted by those providers offering unconditional approval and deals that seem too good to be true; many people have ended up with unmanageable repayments and paying skyhigh interest. The whole thing defeats the purpose.

AmericaOneUnsecured will assist you in finding a personal loan on the basis of your credit history; this is responsible lending in my opinion. Considering that you will not need to have any collateral remember that your credit rating will be the decider. So it certainly pays to take care of it.

Xmas shopping and desperate retailers

Posted by Wendy under Shopping

There’s only a week and a bit until Xmas and the major retailers are starting to panic girls!. It seems that consumers have become very savings-savvy now and online shopping has taken over in a huge way leaving the retail outlets worrying about their cash tills.  I think people, women in particular, have discovered that the festive spirit can be found in places other than crammed shops and over inflated prices.

I have been using online stores for my gift buying for about five years now and have been very happy with the results. I have saved large amounts of cash, earned decent rewards points on my credit cards and even avoided paying interest. It all comes down to keeping an eye on what your credit card provider offers. Make sure you find out.

Personally, I use Amazon more than I get in the car and go to the shops. The parcels start arriving in early December and as a bonus they can arrive already gift wrapped if you choose the option. The kids cannot see what’s inside the boxes; ever tried sneaking toys into the house wrapped only in those sheer plastic shopping bags?. You can just explain them away as  ” Oh, it’s just a few things Daddy ordered for work “. They have always bought that excuse, however I suspect they are slowly catching on…

If the major retailers want OUR hard earned money then maybe they should rethink their marketing strategies and what they offer to shoppers at this time of year. We all know that prices rise in the weeks before Xmas and then those bogus ‘discounts’ kick in trying to fool us into thinking we are getting a bargain.

Sorry guys, it ain’t working anymore!.

The Tory’s have recently stated that one of their intentions, should they get into Government next time, will be to make single mother’s on welfare go out to work once their youngest child reaches school age. There were two basic opinions expressed by the public on this topic; the overwhelming majority of people polled agreed that such a move would be welcomed by the tax payers. The other, though less in number, opinion was that it would create difficulties for single mothers. You have to look at both side though.

Whilst I agree that a mother needs to be the ‘constant’ carer in a childs early years there is no proof at all that children of working mother’s suffer social problems. Women do need to earn their own money, they do need a life away from the home, and yes, even away from the kids for a certain amount of time. Women do need independance and financial security. The only way to achieve this is to go out into paid employment. We all know how expensive quality childcare is, of course it should not be free. Those working to care for our children have to be paid.

But those Mums who have spent years on welfare and relying on a pension have special needs. They don’t have a partner to share the workload with, if their child gets sick and cannot attend daycare she will have to take time off work. Childcare will take a huge chunk out of her wages as well, not all of us have a Mum, aunt or sister to fall back on for support.

But I think it would be a great move to encourage single Mum’s to take their control of their own futures. The Govt could do a lot to make this more achievable for these women.
