I recently had my first experience of one of those well known online auction sites and wrote all about the details here a few weeks back. I was not exactly stung in the way that many other people have been but I cannot say I would bother using that site ever again. But what is the alternative? what happens if you are stuck with some tickets for an event you cannot attend for one reason or another; or for that matter wish to purchase tickets for an event that is effectively sold out ?
Buying tickets, for example theatre tickets, for events from private sellers has, in the past, become a rather grey area with both buyers and sellers each coming off second best due to unscrupulous activities. Viagogo offer a viable alternative that is safe, secure and ensures that both buyer and seller get the tickets they buy and the money that is due to them. If you have tickets for an event; lets say you have some London tickets for whatever event you were going to see and need to sell them, Viagogo offer a middleman service that see’s you as the seller receive the money due to you as the company collect the money for you. No more waiting for, or trusting, an unknown buyer to post you a cheque.
Basically it is a simple format and works like this…
Sellers:
*Create an account. When you have a buyer for your ticket(s) you agree to post them off asap wherebyViagogo collect the money from the buyer in a confirmed sale transaction. They collect the money therefore ensuring that you do get paid.
Buyers:
* Create an account. Find the tickets you wish to purchase and pay using the secure server. You receive a confirmation email confirming the sale. The Seller has agreed to post you your tickets asap; in the event of your tickets not being available at the point of sale you receive compensation in the form of tickets to a similar event to the same value. Your choice.
If you are wishing to buy or sell theatre tickets London holds all the events that people wish to see throughout the year; this creates a very high demand so make sure that whichever side of the coin you are on - selling or buying - you come out on top.
