Some make such outrageous claims that even though you might be more wary yourself, someone really desperate to try anything will be gullible enough to whip out the credit card with no real knowledge of what they are buying.

We never expected such a simple thing to turn out to be so darn complicated! we are returning to the UK tomorrow and are taking the car we bought here in France – okay, straightforward enough.

Wrong. Whilst browsing around online for auto insurance quotes we discovered that there was a problem. Our particular model of car is not sold in the UK so it has been very difficult getting cover for it. Something we never considered.

We have managed to cover it but my advice is to check carefully should you find yourself buying a car outside your home country.
