Gyms have changed!

Posted by Wendy under Health

Since we arrived back from five years in France I noticed I had also brought with me some excess baggage of the kind you don’t want…

I have been doing a lot of walking just lately and the evenings are just nice and mild enough to not need to bulk up too much with warm clothing. But I feel I need to get really serious and checked out the local gym that I frequented before we went to France.

Things have changed for sure. It’s all power plates and ellipticals now and you even get built-in gaming screens to keep your mind busy while you work out. I like it and have signed up for a months workouts; I can feel the pounds falling away already…(she says…)

It has got to be a joke but Ryanair intend to instal coin slots on the toilets on their flights which will see passengers having to pay £1 to use the loo. A pound to spend a penny!

Will this see the sale of their flights hit an all time low…?

What they fail to consider are the French travelling over from France. Those people will go wherever, and whenever, the need arises. They pee on the side of the roads and even in public places so I doubt they will bother paying to piddle on a short flight.

My advice…? take a plastic bottle and make use of it during your flight. Then hand it to the flight crew as they bid you farewell at the end.  And make sure the bottle leaks…

Jacqui Smith hinted yesterday at new curbs on the rights of immigrant workers to bring their families into Britain. The Home Secretary suggested that families may be kept out unless wives and other dependants are prepared to work.

The prospect of restrictions on immigration by families came as Miss Smith launched her high-profile tightening of immigration rules, which she says will ‘raise the bar’ on immigration from outside the EU.

Hello…? is this woman for real !!

Just WHAT jobs are these family members going to take…does she not realise that the UK needs to reduce ALL immigration, not just that from outside the EU – which is actually where the better class of migrant comes from. Unskilled and non-english speaking Poles, Romanians and Bulgarians are pouring into the UK heading straight for the benefits gravy train which makes the UK the most common choice for the ‘freedom of movement’ EU migrants.

It is these nationalities which are the drain on the British taxpayer, not the Australians or New Zealanders who come to work fully qualified, english speaking and well able to integrate into British society. Yet it will be these longtime Commonwealth members who will be turned away from the visa office.

The biggest problem for the UK is immigration and welfare dependancy – both go hand in hand in this nation and it is killing the economy. No other country in the EU offers instant access to housing and cash as the UK does, which is why it has become such a magnet to the dregs of the former soviet bloc.

Added to this is the dedicated left wing who provide sanctuary and recompense to terrorists using the only-works-for-criminals human rights act…no wonder the UK is THE place to stow away to these days.

It makes you wonder just what them in Brussels are hoping to achieve – the complete ruination of a nation that saved itself and fought off the mighty German Luftwaffe just over 60 years ago it seems. The biggest enemy now is the present democratically elected Govt and it’s anti-family and anti-British ethos.
