Building up your business…after 2000 years!

In AD79 it was THE place to be seen by the young and trendy Pompeii set. Locals would pop in to have a snack of baked cheese smothered in honey while catching up with their friends and ADgossip. Then one night the volcano famously erupted and the rest – literally – was history. nearly 2000 years after being covered in ash and lava Pompeii’s favourite snack bar has reopened for business.

Promoting the business now would be quite different to 2000 years ago; back then they had nothing like door hanger printing to advertise or tv commercials to promote trade. The Thermopolium will reopen for the first time in 2000 years after major excavation and restoration work and the opening will be attended by over 300 VIP’s who will taste the food the cafe served all those years ago. It once featured a garden, vineyard and pergola before it was destroyed by the eruption of Mt Vesuvius.
