Most of us at some time have had the frustrating experience of having to deal with a call centre when making enquiries regarding our banking details. As most of these call centre’s are now based in India what comeback do you have when the operator cannot, or will not, assist you in the correct manner ?
Not much it seems. And one man in the UK found to his detriment what can occur when you inadvertantly ‘upset’ the operator at the call centre. His discovered the operator, working from India for the Abbey Bank, had gone and changed all his personal details on his bank account to that of someone else. To know that these people have our personal details at their fingertips, and can tamper with them, is worrying…
There’s a way around using these annoying facilities; use your feet. Just walk down to your local branch – or drive – and sort the problem out over the counter. It might involve more costly time on your part, or making an appointment, but I find that dealing face-to-face with a problem at the bank is preferrable to spending a small fortune on those call centres.
