I was watching one of those morning TV shows the other day where a segment featured a group of women who had been asked to try and compare various facial creams.

These products ranged from cheap/budget priced to mid-range priced right up to those which only Mrs Beckham can afford to buy. The results were interesting.

The ladies replied that after testing each particular product the results did not improve as the price of the product went higher. In short, the cheaper face creams did just as well in the test as those which cost a weeks wages.

So, the message is clear; there really is no need to pay a small fortune for an anti wrinkle cream when you can purchase one which is equal, if not better, for what small change you have in your purse. Honestly, will your skin really know how much you have paid in the end…?

I know it’s only June but…

Posted by Wendy under Shopping

Xmas is only just over 26 weeks away. Don’t want to think about it right now…? well, maybe you should.

Economically things are pretty gloomy in the United Kingdom right now - and everywhere else really for that matter - but the point is that sooner or later you have to think about what to buy for the family in December. I have some advice to get around this: buy early, buy NOW!!

Most of us have still managed to hang onto our credit cards and hopefully still have some semblance of credit on them. By far the cheapest way to shop for Xmas is online. I have been checking around the various shopping sites and have discovered that this time, mid-year, is when you can really bag a bargain.  Nearly all the sites have a sale going on at the moment and many even offer free postage/shipping.

Why not start looking now? draw up a short list and aim at making a couple of purchases a month - within your means of course - between now and, say, November. The kids wont be expecting any ’surprises’ arriving in the post just yet so it is a good time to start without arousing their suspicions.

Something nice for the Dads

Posted by Wendy under Shopping

Father’s Day is coming up very shortly and like most men, no matter how much we love them, they are always a little difficult to buy for. Don’t you think so…?

My own Dad was almost impossible to find the right gift for; he was very fussy about the clothes he wore, colognes he used, books he read - even the chocolates he ate. Well, he did love dark chocolate…

However I have a great idea for what to buy Dad this year; if you feel you’ve not quite expressed your love and appreciation for him as much as you have wanted to with regards to your gifts how about considering a lovely piece of men’s jewelry  for him this time round ?

Men of all ages wear at the very least a nice ring or chain these days and something in this area, especially from you, will really make his day for him. Okay, so we should really make everyday Father’s Day for our darling Dads where we can but this year go all out and give him a big surprise - he will still probably say though that the best present he ever got was you.

A signet ring such as this suits any man; tasteful, masculine and smart.
