Well, worry yourself into an early grave is one good suggestion. My son has been threatening to buy himself a motorcycle since he was a teenager – he is now 23 – and has celebrated finally landing the job of his dreams by taking out his first bank loan and buying a Kawasaki. Don’t ask me what model it is, a motorbike is a motorbike to me, but it is black and looks lethal!
Fortunately his head is screwed on properly and he has all the right arrangements in place; full insurance, rego, he has joined a roadside assistance club as he got the loan through their organisation, and the helmet, boots, etc…
What surprised me was the cost of the accessories – $500 just for the helmet alone! the jacket set him back $450, but he is over the moon about his pride and joy and I just pray that he is safe when he is out riding it. And to think I used to fret whenever he went out on his mountain bike.

I have been watching that wonderful series where Richard Wilson drives around Britain using only a 1950′s road map and driving 1950′s vintage cars. As it is now fifty years since the first motorway opened in the UK it gives you a look at how scenic a drive around the British isles really is so long as
