We both are now into our second week of gym-going; we managed to find a gym – Fitness First – which does not require you to sign your life away for an entire twelve months minimum. Not that there is anything bad about that, in many ways it is a good idea and would keep you motivated having spent all that money up front, but we are going away for two months end of June and no gym would give us a ‘suspension’ in a membership.
So we signed up and have been slogging away on the treadmill, etc, every day for the past two weeks – I know it takes a while but can’t nature be kinder and show up some results sooner rather than later…? even if it is just a little bit…?
You would know by now that the new wonder slimming drug ‘Alli’ has hit the pharmacies and is said to give quite impressive results; I have to admit I would not be inclined to try it even if I needed to. The side effects sound pretty grim and for £50 I could get another two months membership at my gym. ‘For every 2lb’s you lose Alli loses you another 1lb…’ – so goes the blurb. I am sure this is down to the low fat diet you have to follow – to avoid the side effects. You also have to take additional diet supplements as you stop absorbing certain nutrients with the drug.
Well, if the drug does what it claims to do, there should be a distinct shortage of tubby people walking around within the next 8 weeks or so as the pills are flying off the shelf. Time will only tell…
