Getting married? – try Florida

I don’t know what it is but everytime I go to a new hairdresser she tells me she is off to the USA to either get married or have a vacation. That is exactly what my new hair stylist told me this morning, that she is off to Florida in September to get married at DisneyWorld of all places.

You might assume such an event would cost a fortune but they do wedding packages at DisneyWorld which are really quite competitive with much lesser offerings here in the UK. And you get a much nicer deal and in a fairytale setting…so it is really something to look at if you are planning on marrying and want to do something out of the ordinary.

She was asking me about how to go about organising their money for the trip – they are looking at some Orlando vacations for the honeymoon – and I advised that the best way is to open an account with Nationwide and just withdrawer their cash as they need it over there – via debit card of course. So far Nationwide do not charge for cash transactions abroad but it may change – or maybe not going by the numbers of complaints lately. Best thing to do, as this charge will apply to Visa cards, is to get a Cirrus card from Nationwide and get around it that way.
