It is not surprising that online study options have become extremely popular in recent years with women making up the larger proportion of students studying this way. And why not? it is the most convenient form of study for women, particularly those at home with children – even the more mature woman is making the decision to use her retirement more constructively and complete a course of education.
As more online educational programs become accredited and recognised the option is no longer treated as a novelty and professional people are also using this form of study in conjunction with their careers.
I am a strong advocate of women going back to school and gaining new qualifications; taking steps to achieve that career they had always dreamed of. No matter what age group you are in there is no obstacle to changing your life and direction when you put your mind to it.
Online study options in the UK can be found most commonly with the major universities such as Oxford, Cambridge and especially the Open University which offers an excellent way to gain that Diploma or Degree. Get a copy of their handbook and you will see that there is a course to suit just about anyone. Some courses are fully online whilst others require attendance at tutorials, summer residential schools (these are great fun) and examinations.
As with any course of study you will need to work to a schedule and meet deadlines for submitted assignments; organising yourself before you begin is the key to success.
