The last decade was so good for those travelling on business; hotels and aircraft became more luxurious, companies offered more perks in regards to business expenses and things were great. Until 2008…
In 2009 things will be different no doubt. Companies will have downsized and cut back on travelling employees. Hotels on the other hand will be courting for business and aiming at attracting those from the corporate world – accommodation and conference packages will be priced to sell in 2009 for sure.

For those who do travel standards like airfares and travel insurance will probably be that much more affordable however, depending where you are travelling, extras could be all inclusive. And inevitably, as airlines and hotels start to chase fewer and fewer customers, fidelity will become even more valuable. Expect to see frequent flyer and hotel loyalty programmes become a lot more generous in the year ahead.
