I really get so annoyed with people who claim they refuse to vote – they always seem to make the pronouncement with so much smugness as well. There’s nothing to boast about not taking advantage of your democratic right to have a say in who governs you and the rest of us. In fact I believe strongly in the concept of if you don’t vote then don’t whinge about the government. Just as if you don’t pay taxes then don’t use MY hospitals, don’t use MY public transport and don’t walk on MY footpaths, drive on MY roads or enjoy MY public parks and reserves.
You get the right to utilise all these services so long as you get out, find a job and pay taxes like the rest of us. No doubt employment and immigration are the two main issues in this election and the choice we make at the polls on Thursday will make a huge difference over the following decade. Choose Labour or Lib Dems and the ordinary British person can simply stand back and watch as his/her nation becomes another altogether. Will the last people out of Poland and Afghanistan turn out the lights please…?
The choice is not brilliant but out of a bad bunch I am pinning my hopes on David Cameron to regain Great Britain for the British.
