It always takes a while to change gear from holiday-mode back to normal life again eh?
Apart from Venice being somewhat overcast for the first three days we still did not need to wear any heavy clothing and on the last day the sun came out and it was really quite warm…ain’t that just typical though?
We arrived back here to cold weather, drizzly rain and routine; so we are already thinking about where to go next for another break. Venice is really a short break type of place as it is small and we saw basically everything there was to see in that time – stay there for longer than a week and you’d be pushing it for new things to do.
Well, I’ve had enough of planes (I’m not a confident flyer) and I am trying to nudge my partner into looking at some cruises for next time round. I have always wanted to do a Scandinavian voyage – one that takes in the fjords and all that alpine scenery but with the comfort of a nice warm cabin to retreat to…
We’ll have to see; with our Australian trip planned for next June we are looking at short break rather than major travel for now. But having taken two trips by cruise years ago I would love to repeat the experince – even for just five days.
