The agony of eczema.

We have been battling the curse – and it is – of eczema for eight years now as our young son has this skin condition and has had it since he was 12 months old.Well, perhaps ‘cursed’ isn’t quite the right word because at times he is free of it whilst at other times it seems as though it is taking over his not only his body but our lives as well.

As many parents will know, it isn’t always easy to discover the underlying cause of the condition and the trial and error phase can take a year or more. Over that time the other “minor” complication is that the little guy is growing up and possibly growing out of it (or into something else!).

So, originally we had summised that his eczema was down to a lack of sunlight as it went away when we were over in France. Not so as he was living here in the UK when he developed it. However he is slowly growing out of it – the episodes are fewer and further in between than before and this makes his life so much more easier.
