With the rising cost of fuel in the UK right now it is no wonder that many people are now abandoning their vehicles to the driveway and walking to work – or catching the bus.
While this is very good for our health – dosen’t hurt at all to walk anywhere – those people who purchases 4X4′s are finding their investment has become to expensive to maintain; how on earth does the average family afford to fill these vehicles with fuel ?
On the other hand sales of smaller and more fuel efficient cars have risen by 120 percent and interestingly bicycle sales has risen by 12 percent. While I don’t see cities like London turning into something resembling Amsterdam, where nearly everybody rides a bike around, could this be signalling a turn in the tide ?
Should we start thanking the Govt and it’s extortionate fuel taxes for literally forcing the population to get walking, and healthy, again ? I don’t know, maybe to make it more interesting we could all develop our own silly walk to show just what kind of situation the UK is in nowadays.
