Venice – great for window shopping unless you have a bottomless credit card

Just back from a wonderful four day visit to Venice in Italy and I cannot recommend this city highly enough. It is unique, it is beautiful and it is expensive !

Actually you can do Venice on quite a tight budget so long as you don’t aim to buy any clothes – the boutiques are stunning with a designer outlet on every corner but the price tags would suit a WAG…I am more a DAG than anything else.

Eating out did not break the bank for us; the pizzas are great and quite cheap so we overdosed on pizza plus most of the cafes do a tourist menu option where you get a three course meal for between 12-14 euros per person. We found that to be great value – once you start ordering wine and drinks though it hikes the bill up considerably.

If you get a chance to visit Venice then absolutely do so – you will love it!
